The Short Sale Negotiator

In short,  the short sale negotiator is the person or company who negotiates with the lender to reach an agreement on terms for a short sale to take place.

A short sale can occur when the value of a property is below the loan value already on that property.  In these occasions, a bank may forgive all or some of the negative equity on the property and allow it to be sold at a reduced rate.

It is imperative that the short sale negotiator be highly experienced in this area as their responsibilities will include, refuting claims by the bank as to the current market value of the property.  Often times the bank will attempt to claim the property market value to be more than what it will actually bring.  Having an experienced negotiator may seriously improve the short sale negotiation process.
